Listen to Your PDFs with Google Drive’s New AI Tool
[inside] Google Drive Adds AI Audio Summaries for PDFs!

Hey!
Got something exciting to share. Let’s dive in.⚡
🔥 It’s Going Viral:
Turn Your PDFs Into Podcasts with Google Drive’s New AI Feature
Google Drive is getting a new AI-powered feature called Audio Overviews, which turns long PDF documents into short, podcast-style summaries. The feature, part of the Gemini for Google Workspace suite, uses the same technology as NotebookLM’s popular Audio Overview tool. It lets users listen to a conversational summary of their documents instead of reading them, offering a more engaging way to process information.
Key Points:
Available for Google Workspace Business Standard/Plus, Enterprise Standard/Plus, and Gemini AI Pro and Ultra users.
Works only on desktop for now; audio overviews can be accessed later via mobile.
Activated through a new waveform icon when viewing PDFs in Drive.
ChatGPT Faces Legal Setback
A German court has ruled that OpenAI’s ChatGPT violated the country’s copyright law by using licensed musical works without permission to train its models. The case was brought by GEMA, Germany’s music rights organisation, which hailed the verdict as a “landmark AI ruling in Europe.” OpenAI has been ordered to pay damages, though the amount remains undisclosed, and the company said it is reviewing its legal options.
Key Points:
The lawsuit was filed by GEMA in November last year.
GEMA said the ruling protects the rights and livelihoods of music creators.
OpenAI stated it disagrees with the decision and is considering its next steps.
Perplexity, Anthropic May Have Leaked Secrets on GitHub
A new report by cloud security firm Wiz claims that major AI companies, including Perplexity and Anthropic, may have accidentally exposed sensitive data on GitHub. The report found that about 65% of leading AI firms had exposure risks involving proprietary model details, API keys, and other credentials. Researchers warned that such leaks could reveal valuable information about the companies’ AI models and training processes, urging firms to adopt stronger monitoring tools.
Key Points:
Wiz analysed companies from Forbes’ AI 50 list, including Anthropic, Mistral, Cohere, Midjourney, Perplexity, and others.
Exposed data included API keys, model weights, dataset info, and tokens.
Leaks occurred when developers’ GitHub repositories contained sensitive code or files.
